The legal system has historically been antagonistic towards the LGBTQ2S+ community, and although much progress has been made, the legal system has continued to prop up and reinforce systemic barriers to equality. AWL is proud to be an ally and supporter of the important work being done by and with the LGBTQ2S+ community to tear down these barriers and recreate systems that affirm the worth and personhood of each individual, regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation. During Pride month (and beyond), AWL encourages all of its members to celebrate the progress that the LGBTQ2S+ community has made, and to continue to work towards a society in which all people are afforded equality and dignity, regardless of who they are or who they love.
